Dear Colleagues,
We are very sad to share the recent news that Jon Grimes passed away. Jon was a longtime employee in the Voiland College shops, and served as the engineering technician supervisor. Over the years, he and his wife, Charlena, who was senior academic coordinator in the college, were generous supporters of WSU and of students in our college. They were especially known for their loving care of students. He and Char willingly helped any student who came through their doors. Occasionally, they even opened their home when students’ lives became overwhelming.
After retiring in 2008, Jon enjoyed wintertime trips to Arizona with Char.
We have sent flowers to Char on behalf of the College. You might be interested to know that Jon and Char set up a scholarship endowment to continue supporting future generations of students. If you would like to honor Jon by contributing to their scholarship endowment, you can contact any development team member. We would ensure that Char is notified of any gifts that are made in honor of Jon’s life.
