Resources for WSU’s Healthy and Safe Environment

Dear Colleagues,

We are well into spring and the end of the semester is near – yet the upcoming end-of-year finals can be a stressful time for everyone.

I would like to take a moment to remind everyone of WSU’s commitment to ensuring a healthy and safe environment for all faculty, staff, students, and visitors.

For Students: WSU Counseling Services provides 24/7 counseling assistance for students who are experiencing stress, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, academic or other difficulties. They provide services for students, as well as consultation and information for parents, faculty, staff, or friends that may be concerned about a student. Please visit the Cougar Health Services to find out more information about their confidential services.

For Staff & Faculty: WSU provides the free and confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) as part of its employee benefit package. The EAP provides counseling, education, and consultation services to improve job performance, worker health, and the well-being of the employee. In addition to individual service, the EAP provides crisis counseling for groups of employees who suffer from a shared workplace crisis such as death/illness of a colleague, inappropriate workplace behavior or any circumstance that may adversely affect the working group. Learn more about the Employee Assistance Program.

As part of WSU’s ongoing commitment to take campus safety very seriously, the university has prepared a Campus Safety Plan, containing a listing of university policies, procedures, statistics and information relating to campus safety, emergency management and the health and welfare of the campus community. Please take a moment to review the Campus Safety Plan.

Thank you for all you do for the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture!

Sincerely,
