From the Dean
Happy New Year!
As many of you know, the schools of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Mechanical and Materials Engineering have been very effectively led by interim directors Partha Pande and Indranath Dutta, respectively, for more than a semester now.
In the next few weeks, the process for identifying permanent directors in these schools will begin. I’ll be meeting with faculty in each school to discuss the next steps in recruitment. If you would like to share your thoughts on these positions, you are welcome contact me directly as well.
Go Cougs!

Safety Tip of the Week
More Power to You
A significant amount of workplace fatalities occur as a result of electrocution. Make sure to be careful in how to you place and work with your electronics. Keep walkways and doors clear of any cords or clutter and never hang extension cords on wires, staples or nails. There should be at least a three-foot clearance in front of electrical panels.
