Administrative Changes at ESIC

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that WSU Regents Professor Anjan Bose has accepted the position of Interim Director of the Energy Systems Innovation Center (ESIC), following former director Chen-Ching Liu’s departure to Virginia Tech earlier this year. A search for a permanent director for ESIC is currently underway.

ESIC has grown dramatically since its inception in 2012, with approximately $4M of research expenditures, 60 graduate students and more than a dozen postdocs and visiting researchers today. ESIC partners with many industrial companies, universities and government agencies in the USA and abroad, organizes three major conferences every year, and also raises funds for undergraduate laboratories and scholarships.

To ensure that ESIC continues to run smoothly and transparently during the search process, Noel Schulz will act as Associate Director of ESIC Education and Outreach, and Mani Venkatasubramanian will serve as Associate Director for ESIC Research.

Please join me in congratulating Anjan, Noel, and Mani on their new positions.
