A Message From Dean Rezac – May 11, 2020

Dear Colleagues:

I want to thank everyone who participated in last week’s VCEA Town Hall.

I also wanted to pass along some of the follow-up action items and links from the Town Hall:

AOI Fall Cohort Faculty Survey: This summer, in addition to offering their regular trainings, Academic Outreach and Innovation plans to work with multiple faculty cohorts to help them deliver an engaging learning experience for students in the fall. But first, they are interested in assessing your specific needs so they can move swiftly to create faculty cohorts. Please take a few minutes to complete their Faculty Survey.

Incomplete COVID19 Incomplete Grade Option: The WSU Registrar’s incomplete grade form for undergraduate and graduate students that was referenced by Krishnamoorthy Sivakumar is on the Registrar website (PDF).

COVID-19 Safety Training: WSU recently provided two COVID-19 related trainings for personnel working on-campus. “Pandemics: Slowing the Spread,” and “Disinfecting the Workplace for COVID-19” are now available through HRS’ Learning and Organizational Development website. These trainings will help prepare us to get back into classroom, laboratory and workplace.

VCEA Student Item Retrieval: All VCEA building exterior doors are locked. Students needing to collect items will need to take VCEA’s Pick Up Or Return Items Survey. VCEA staff will reach out individually to the students to coordinate building/area access for the pick up or return of items.

VCEA Pullman Floor Plans: To help with planning purposes, floor plans of Voiland College’s buildings are available on our website.

As I mentioned in the Town Hall, we plan to develop a more formal, in-person celebration in the fall to recognize our 2019-2020 outstanding students, staff, and faculty. Please take a moment to give them a “shout out.”

As we wrap up the 2019-2020 school year, I want to say ‘Thank You” once again to each and every one of you who have helped our students – and each other – not just survive – but thrive – and experience kindness, support, learning, and achievement during these unprecedented challenges. It is my humble honor to serve among you.

Go Cougs!
