Dingwen Tao received the Early Career Research Award for Excellence in High Performance Computing from the IEEE Computer Society’s Technical Consortium on High Performance Computing. Tao is featured this month in the WSU Provost’s New Faculty Spotlight.

The Daily Evergreen reported on John Swenson’s use of WSU Provost funds to support remote learning in his Mechanical Engineering 401 class.

WSU has the first university lab in the country to successfully test liquid hydrogen as a green fuel source for unmanned aerial vehicles, according to the Daily Evergreen.

Leigh Ann Bryan was awarded a top prize in the Next Work Environment Competition.

Eunice Kwon won am AIChE 2020 Women in Chemical Engineering (WIC) Travel Award.

MME Seminar: Computational Design of Alloy Chemistry in Uranium-based Metallic Fuels:
Metallic fuel systems, e.g. U-Zr and U-Pu-Zr, are attractive fuels for advanced nuclear reactor concepts, such as the advanced sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR) as these fuels exhibit high thermal conductivity, proliferation resistance, excellent compatibility with the sodium coolant, and in some configurations inherent safety.

VCEA Pumpkin Carving Contest

Join VCEA Tutoring Services for a pumpkin carving contest! All students, faculty, and staff from all VCEA campuses are encouraged to put their carving skills to the test to win prizes in different categories plus bragging rights for the entire year. Participants can work alone or can work together (via Zoom or other safe methods). Contestants will enter photos of their creations on which all of Voiland College will vote.

Workday Training

Washington State University will soon begin using Workday, the new system for finance, payroll, human resources, and post-award grants management. All WSU employees will use Workday in some capacity, from managing their personal information to tracking their time worked/off. Workday training materials are ready and courses are now open for enrollment.
