Go Cougs!

Led by Annie Du, scientists have developed a method to detect the biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease that is 10 times more sensitive than current blood testing technology. They report their findings in the Science partner journal, Research. WSU Ph.D. students Zhaoyuan Lyu and Shichao Ding are the co-first authors of the paper.

WSU Tri-Cities computer science major KJ Galvan’s experiences with a PNNL internship, student clubs, and hackathons were featured in the WSU Insider.

David Drake and Taiji Miyasaka’s novel work in recycling drywall was featured in the Daily Evergreen.

Gowtham Kandaperumal received the Honorable Mention Award in Student Competition during this year’s Resilience Week Symposium.

Palouse Robosub Club is one of six student clubs participating in the WSU Foundation’s CougStarter Fundraising Campaign.

Association of Faculty Women Samuel H. Smith Award Leadership Award Nominations Due Oct. 30

The criteria for the award are as follows: “The recipient of the Award shall be an AFW member whose leadership has advanced the role of women in the Washington State University system and/or who has demonstrated leadership in higher education, the community, or her profession at the local, state, regional, national or international level.”

Workday Training

Washington State University will soon begin using Workday, the new system for finance, payroll, human resources, and post-award grants management. All WSU employees will use Workday in some capacity, from managing their personal information to tracking their time worked/off. Workday training materials are ready and courses are now open for enrollment.
