Dear Colleagues,

I am happy to announce that Professor Haluk Beyenal has accepted the position as Voiland College’s Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies. He starts effective immediately.

In his new role, Haluk will work as part of the college’s administrative team and provide oversight on several critical initiatives for the college, including fostering faculty research and creative activity, managing and coordinating research proposals, and directing our graduate student program.

Haluk’s research background provides him with a wealth of experience for his new role. Renowned in the research fields of biofilms, electrochemistry, and environmental microbiology, Haluk has a research h-index of 57.

With WSU since 2006, Haluk has been recognized with several honors, including an NSF Career Award, the Anjan Bose Outstanding Research Faculty Award, and the Tech Connect Defense Medical Innovation Award.

I would like to thank everyone who participated in the selection process and again express my gratitude to outgoing Associate Dean Dave Field for his outstanding service in this role for the past several years.
