Be Safe Cougs

Helping a Student in Crisis

Faculty and staff are often able to recognize when a student is struggling, but it can be hard to know what to say or do. Reference your campus guide for specific WSU and community resources to aid a student in distress.

Early intervention is the key to student success. The Student Care Network allows you to share concerns about a student’s emotional or psychological well-being, physical health, or academic performance with colleagues on your campus who can help. When you submit your referral through our online form, an email will be generated, contacting the relevant offices on your campus.

Employee Assistance Program

The Washington State Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free, confidential program created to promote the health, safety and well-being of public service employees. When you’re ready to get help, we’re here for you.
