Jason Peschel was named director of the School of Design and Construction.

Hongtao Dang received a grant from the Washington State Department of Labor and Industry to develop a training program to improve psychological safety for people in the construction industry.

Anamika Dubey was selected to receive the 2023 IEEE Power & Energy Society Outstanding Young Engineer Award. She was recognized for her contributions to optimization and control of electric power distribution systems.

Mani Venkatasubramanian was selected to receive the 2023 IEEE PES Prabha S. Kundur Power System Dynamics and Control Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the understanding and control of the dynamics of the power system. He was recognized for the development of synchrophasor-based monitoring of power system oscillations that are used in grid control centers all over the world.

Jaime Rice has been accepted as a fellow in the Summer Institute in Anti-Racist and Decolonizing Research Methods program to be held at George Mason University this summer.

Facilities Modernization – May Update

Washington State University secured significant state support for vital degree programs and campus improvement projects, including $40 million for the construction of Schweitzer Engineering Hall, as part of budget agreements approved by the Washington State Legislature.
