Cougs Help Cougs: COVID-19 March 22 Update

As we start our first week of distance learning, I want to start by saying THANK YOU for everything that you’ve done this week to prepare WSU and our local communities to respond to the growing impact of COVID-19.

Creating a Welcome and Engaging Classroom: COVID-19 March 19 Update

As we continue our preparations for online delivery, I want to encourage you to communicate with your students about what changes, if any, they may experience when they return to classes on Monday, as well as what they can expect from you and what expectations you have of them.

Telework Agreement: COVID-19 Update March 18, 2020

In accordance with WSU and Voiland College’s directive for employees to immediately transition to telework, I request that all Voiland College faculty, staff, and graduate students complete a telework agreement as soon as possible. If you have already submitted a memo that was approved by your supervisor, completion of this form is not needed.

WSU Syllabus Policy: COVID-19 March 17 Update

I hope many of you have taken advantage of the VCEA Transitioning to Online Training as you prepare for distance delivery of your courses. As a reminder, there will be a session on Thursday, March 19, 3-5 PM.

As you prepare for this transition, please also consider any changes needed to your course policies that were set at the beginning of the term. The syllabus document provided to students at the beginning of the semester is nominally a contract between the students and the faculty member.

New Work Policies in Effect: COVID-19 Update March 16, 2020

In accordance with the CDC and Governor Inslee’s guidance, to protect the health of our students, staff, faculty and community, I am directing all unit directors within our college to implement these policies, effective immediately.

Zoom Resources: COVID-19 March 13 Update

I want to let you know how proud I am of all the efforts that are going around the college to prepare for distance learning that begins March 23.

I’m hearing several departments are organizing “train the trainer” groups to assist each other in the technical and pedagogical challenges associated with teaching and advising remotely.
