Pande Appointed Director, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

It is my great pleasure to announce Partha Pande has accepted the four-year appointment as Director of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, effective March 1, 2018.

As you know, Partha has been acting in a leadership role as EECS’ interim director for more than a year now. I am excited to continue working with him, and you, to successfully train our graduates to meet the growing needs of the high-demand industries our land-grant institution serves.

Best Wishes for 2018

Happy New Year!

2017 certainly flew by, and 2018 is now already upon us. With the merger of the School of Design and Construction’s Interior Design and Landscape Architecture programs into our college, 4650 undergraduate students and a record 736 graduate students started their year off in the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture.

Budget Update – Oct. 3, 2017

I want to thank those of you who were able to attend President Schulz and Provost Bernardo’s recent Voiland College Town Hall. I hope you found their candid assessment of WSU’s budget situation as illuminating as I did.

In that spirit, I want to share with you some information on Voiland College’s own budget. During this past fiscal year, when considering our state budget only, VCEA’s expenditures were $3.7M more than its $35M in allocations/revenues. In other words, we overspent our state budget by more than 10 percent.

An Eye on Safety

As custodians of Voiland College’s many students and guests, as well as our fellow staff and faculty members, safety is always our number one priority.

Safe conditions and procedures should exist everywhere we live, learn, and work – in the office, in the hallway, the classroom, and especially in the lab.

Letter From the Dean – August 16, 2017

Welcome to the start of the 2017-2018 academic year!

I joined the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture and Washington State University on July 1st and have spent the last several weeks getting to know the campuses and the college. I want to say thanks to those who have spent time showing me our facilities and discussing our programs. I’m quite impressed by what I’ve seen and I’m looking forward to meeting undergraduate students in the next few weeks.

Please Welcome MME Interim Director Indranath Dutta

It gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of Indranath Dutta as the interim director of the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering.

MME’s continued success is essential for the growth and vitality of Voiland College. Therefore, I am pleased to have an individual with Indranath’s insight, capabilities, and experience to serve as the next director.

Thanks for a Great Year!

The end of the school year is upon us, and I wanted to take a few moments to thank you all for your hard work during this year of transition.

At this time of year, many of you are working hard to support your students as they make their way through final projects, exams, and graduation. At the same time, it’s a great time to recognize and enjoy the successes that come about from our efforts.
