Criteria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

- Personnel:<\/strong> Proposals should include staff member who will benefit from the professional development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Alignment:<\/strong> Demonstrate how the proposal aligns with the mission, values and commitments of VCEA and\/or your respective department or school.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Impact:<\/strong> Demonstrate how this specific professional development opportunity will positively impact networking or provide enhancements in knowledge base or skills needed for success in your current position.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Quality:<\/strong> Professional development proposals of the upmost rigor and quality are expected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Proposal Specifics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
- \n
- Title Page (1 page) including: Title of proposal<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Staff proposers\u2019 name and title<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Date<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Abstract (500 word maximum)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Identify the purpose, scope, and location (venue, conference, workshop, etc.) of the proposed professional development including anticipated dates.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Demonstrate how the proposed opportunity will positively impact your professional development, the staff on your team, and\/or your school or department.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Budget allocation (1 page) identifying how the budget will be spent in the following categories as appropriate: Travel, Lodging, Registration, Per Diem, misc., other?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
NOTE #1:<\/strong> Due to the nature of the funds available, grant funds may not be used for paying staff salaries or wages of any kind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NOTE #2:<\/strong> Grant funds must be spent by 06\/30\/2026. Remaining balances after this date will be re-allocated to the next round of VCEA Professional Development Grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NOTE #3:<\/strong> No match is required for this professional development grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jury \/ Review Guidelines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
- \n
- The jury will be made up of a body of peer reviewers within the VCEA and\/or WSU system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- There will be five total awards made in this round; two (2) awards at $2,000 and three (3) at $500 each.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Criteria for judging will include and be weighed equally:\n
- \n
- Broader Impacts \u2013 i.e., the impact of the professional development opportunity for the school or department, and\/or VCEA<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Significance of the Proposal \u2013 i.e., the impact of overall significance of the professional development + alignment with the mission, values and commitments of VCEA and\/or your respective department or school<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Value to Staff Member \u2013 i.e., the value and opportunity for the staff member\u2019s growth and development in their position as an outcome of the proposed travel<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Feasibility \u2013 i.e., the feasibility of accomplishing the proposed travel for the professional growth opportunity within the proposed budget and timeline\/schedule<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
