Follow these steps!<\/a><\/p>\n\n<\/div>\r\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Led by Yuehe Lin,<\/strong> researchers are using tiny tubes made from organic molecules called peptoids to deliver cancer-killing drugs in a targeted manner.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Annie Du <\/strong>led a group of researchers in creating a nanozyme consisting of single iron atoms embedded in nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes. Detailed in the journal <\/a>Small<\/em><\/a>, the team solved a problem with nanozymes \u2013 their inability to match the catalytic activity of natural enzymes.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Mary Rezac<\/strong> accepted the President\u2019s Safety Award<\/a> for Voiland College\u2019s efforts to improve lab safety.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n A team of researchers, including Biresh Kumar Joardar, Priyanka Ghosh, Partha Pratim Pande, Ananth Kalyanaraman and Sriram Krishnamoorthy<\/strong>, received a best paper award<\/a> at the recent IEEE\/ACM International Symposium on Networks-on-Chip (NOC\u201919<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Joshua Kernan, Pablo Yong, Jose Avilia, Philip Whitworth, Elizabeth Makizuru, Robbie Englehart, Christina Paoletti and Gus Bronk<\/strong> recently were awarded scholarship grants from the Gene Haas Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Recent grad Lars Neuenschwander\u2019s<\/strong> startup company Appiture was featured by the Spokane Journal of Business.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Daily Evergreen<\/a> featured a story on the WSU National Society of Black Engineers first-ever fall forum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nominations are now being accepted for the 2019-2020 President\u2019s Employee Excellence Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The award is presented annually to recognize outstanding contributions by WSU administrative professional and classified employees. Award recipients each receive $2,500 and will be recognized at the annual Showcase event to be held in March. Apply today<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Center for Produce Safety<\/a> prioritizes research programs that support the development of solutions for critical industry produce safety needs across the entire supply chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The SCGSR program<\/a> supports supplemental awards to outstanding U.S. graduate students to conduct part of their graduate thesis research at a DOE national laboratory\/facility in collaboration with a lab scientist for a period of 3 to 12 consecutive months\u2014with the goal of preparing graduate students for scientific and technical careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The JUMP into STEM<\/a> initiative seeks to inspire the next generation of building scientists, focusing on creative ideation and diversity in the building science field.
