Nominate that WSU employee for the <a href=\"https:\/\/hrs.wsu.edu\/recognition\/crimson-spirit-award\/\">Crimson Spirit Award<\/a> today!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We\u2019re Hiring!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Voiland College is <a href=\"https:\/\/wsu.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com\/en-US\/WSU_Jobs?q=voiland+college+of+engineering+and+architecture\">hiring for several staff and faculty positions.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Be Safe Cougs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Monkeypox Vaccines Available for Pullman Students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/cougarhealth.wsu.edu\/medical-services\/specialty-care-and-services\/monkeypox\/\">monkeypox vaccine<\/a> is available at Cougar Health Services (CHS), and students in impacted populations are encouraged to get the vaccine. CHS also has testing for monkeypox and can help identify the proper course of treatment for those who contract it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty and staff are asked to share this information with students, especially those in <a href=\"https:\/\/cougarhealth.wsu.edu\/medical-services\/specialty-care-and-services\/monkeypox\/\">populations currently eligible<\/a> to receive a vaccine, and encourage them to get vaccinated and seek testing and treatment if they have symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More information about the vaccine, testing, and treatment is available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/cougarhealth.wsu.edu\/medical-services\/specialty-care-and-services\/monkeypox\/\">CHS website<\/a>. Students can schedule vaccines through their <a href=\"https:\/\/healthweb.wsu.edu\/\">patient portal<\/a> or by calling CHS at 509 335 3575.<br>Faculty and staff seeking monkeypox vaccination and\/or treatment for themselves can find more information on the <a href=\"https:\/\/doh.wa.gov\/you-and-your-family\/illness-and-disease-z\/monkeypox\">Washington State Department of Health website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Helping a Student in Crisis<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty and staff are often able to recognize when a student is struggling, but it can be hard to know what to say or do. Reference <a href=\"https:\/\/www.studentcare.wsu.edu\/faculty-staff-resources\/\">your campus guide<\/a> for specific WSU and community resources to aid a student in distress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Early intervention is the key to student success. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.studentcare.wsu.edu\/faculty-staff-resources\/\">Student Care Network<\/a> allows you to share concerns about a student\u2019s emotional or psychological well-being, physical health, or academic performance with colleagues on your campus who can help. When you submit your referral through our online form, an email will be generated, contacting the relevant offices on your campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learn to Support Cougs in Crisis<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We can all help support mental health in our campus community. Learn how to identify Cougs in crisis and connect them with support by signing up for a training with WSU Health Promotion. Sessions are available for all WSU locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/from.wsu.edu\/CUB\/2022\/health-well\/cougs-in-crisis\/fall\/n6017-18111-browser.html\">Campus Connect:<\/a><br>This 2-hour suicide prevention training program is offered free of charge for all WSU staff and students. Participants learn: Statistics and facts about college student suicide; How to ask if someone is feeling suicidal; Appropriate referrals; Active listening, communication, and relationship building skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/from.wsu.edu\/CUB\/2022\/health-well\/cougs-in-crisis\/fall\/n6017-18111-browser.html\">Mental Health First Aid:<\/a><br>Participants in this training learn about symptoms, crisis response, and active listening skills to support someone who is experiencing a mental health disorder such as: Depression and anxiety; Trauma; Psychosis; Eating disorders; Substance abuse.
