Over the past several years, our college has set the standard at WSU by advancing safety<br>practices.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The VCEA Safety Council, representing every safety committee across the college. has endorsed an<br>important update to our safety policy:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>All employees will complete training every five years<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Graduate students working in experimental and\/or hazardous environments will complete training annually.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Benefits of this policy include:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Strengthening and refreshing core safety practices while introducing updated best practices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meeting Washington State Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) requirements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrating VCEA\u2019s ongoing commitment to an effective, proactive safety program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Equipping student employees with lifelong safety awareness that will serve them in their careers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>More details, including information on the required training modules and links to Percipio where<br>you can find the trainings, are available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/vcea.wsu.edu\/foss\/safety-training\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/vcea.wsu.edu\/foss\/safety-training\/\">VCEA Safety Training webpage.<\/a><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To show support for a strong safety culture, Voiland College is launching a <strong>Safety Challenge<\/strong>. The<br>unit with the highest percentage of employees completing training prior to October 1 will be<br>recognized with a celebratory breakfast (coordinated with the winning team) and will proudly<br>display the Safety Challenge trophy.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you once again for your dedication to building our culture of safety.
