What made you decide to attend WSU?
I decided to attend WSU for the close knit community and I was drawn to bioengineering for the integration of science and mathematics in one major.
What has been your favorite class or program that you have been involved with at WSU?
My experience in the bioengineering department has been invaluable. The professors and faculty are extremely supportive of students goals and make many efforts to bring different industry jobs, internships, and graduate school opportunities to all students.
Please share how scholarships or financial aid has impacted you as a student.
I have received both scholarships and financial aid throughout all 4 years of college and it has made a major impact. It allows me to focus more on my academics by taking away the worry of affording tuition and living expenses.
Have you participated in any internships?
I worked an internship at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) as a Computational Biologist Intern. I spent the summer in Richland, WA working on a project with a team to create a Python package that standardizes and integrates cancer omics and drug discovery data.
Why would you recommend attending Washington State University?
I would and have recommended WSU to others because of all the campus resources offered and the support from the professors and faculty.
What do you want to do with your degree after you graduate?
I will pursue a PhD in Engineering Sciences at WSU in Fall ’26.
