Why would you recommend attending Washington State University?

The faculty at Washington State University genuinely want their students to succeed, as shown by the dedication and effort they consistently invest in teaching and support. The sense of community here is truly unmatched, and I’m proud to be a Coug.

Have you participated in any research projects related to your field of study?

I am an undergraduate researcher in Professor Schroeder’s lab, which focuses on multi-scale metabolic modeling.

Have you participated in any internships related to your field of study?

I participated in a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) at the University of Kansas, a paid opportunity that introduced me to the research process. Through this experience, I gained valuable skills that I now apply to my own research at WSU.

What clubs are you involved in on campus?

I am an active member of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), where I volunteered at Kids’ Science and Engineering Day. Being involved in club activities has improved my communication skills and time management.

What advice do you have for fellow or prospective students?

Don’t hesitate to reach out to professors when you’re struggling. Seeking help has made a significant difference in my academic success
