VCEA Wellness Center
Our Wellness Rooms
How to use the Wellness Center
If you want to use the Wellness Rooms, ask one of our Peer Supporters at the front desk which room you’d like to use. Check in with the QR code at the front desk once you have decided which room to use. Afterwards, head into the space you chose and flip the sign from “Available” to “In Use.” This way, if another person is waiting to use that room, Peer Supporters will know if it is occupied. Once you are done with the room, ensure that the space is clean and flip the sign back to “Available.” Currently, we do not have a time limit to use the rooms. If another student is waiting to use the rooms, we will give you a heads up!
If you want to have a conversation with a Peer Supporter/Practicum Student, they are students from psychology, human development, and related fields. They receive training to support you to the best of their abilities. Peer Supporters and Practicum Students are NOT licensed counselors or therapists. Additionally, they do not provide concurrent visits. You can talk to them about any immediate mental health wellness concern you have, including, but not limited to:
- Stress or anxiety about academic demands, such as exams, homework, and grades
- Time management
- Lack of sleep
- Life changes
- Basic needs
If you are in an immediate mental health crisis, please call 988 (suicide and crisis lifeline), 911 (emergency number), or visit your local emergency room.
