Why would you recommend attending Washington State University?
Washington State University is a place filled with many opportunities. At WSU, when you become a part of something – whether it’s the National Society of Black Engineers, the Environmental Science Club, or WSU Rocketry Club – you gain ownership in your role, and you get many opportunities to provide meaningful contributions and become a member of a larger community.
What advice do you have for fellow or prospective students?
I recommend that new students join a club or organization on campus. I believe the best way of connecting with your fellow Cougs is through shared experiences and one of the best ways to doing that is through student clubs.
I highly recommend utilizing the resources on campus such as tutoring, professor’s office hours, and the WSU Access Center. WSU has a lot of student support services that are there to help students succeed – so make sure you utilize them.
What has been your favorite activity you’ve been involved with at WSU?
My favorite club I’ve been a part of here at WSU has to be the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). As a member of NSBE, I get to create real and meaningful impacts by organizing meetings tailored to academic success, such as resume and LinkedIn workshops, career fair prep sessions and more.
Aside from that, it’s a fun organization to be a part of, filled with hard-working, passionate individuals who are focused on achieving their career goals in STEM.
