Why would you recommend attending Washington State University?
I would recommend attending Washington State University because of its strong culture of alumni support. There’s something special about being a Coug. No matter where you go, there’s an immediate sense of connection and belonging that only fellow Cougs truly understand. I also appreciate how the university actively helps us build our professional network through valuable industry connections and opportunities while we’re still in school. I’ve personally experienced this through opportunities I’ve received thanks to connections from both faculty and peers.
What clubs are you involved in on campus?
I’m actively involved in the Interior Design Student Association, where I previously served as the graphic design officer and now proudly serve as the club’s president. This experience has allowed me to build meaningful connections with peers across different grade levels, creating a strong sense of community and support, especially during the more stressful times of the school year. It has also opened the door to valuable opportunities to engage with industry professionals through events like lectures and Q&A sessions, helping connect what we learn in the classroom to the real world.
How have scholarships or financial aid impacted you as a student?
Scholarships and financial aid have played a crucial role in my academic journey. Because of this support, I’ve been able to fully engage in extracurricular activities and participate in events within the School of Design and Construction. These experiences have allowed me to connect with industry professionals and gain a deeper understanding of the field beyond the classroom. Without this financial assistance, I would have had to focus much more on supporting myself, which would have limited my ability to take advantage of these valuable opportunities.
What do you want to do with your degree after you graduate?
After graduation, I plan to pursue a master’s degree in architecture to broaden my understanding of both the exterior and interior aspects of the built environment. My long-term goal is to build a career in interior architecture at a firm close to home, where I can help design thoughtful, functional spaces that enhance people’s everyday lives.
