College Prep: Are You Game?
You’re coming to WSU! Let’s make sure you’re ready to hit the ground running this fall.
Step 1: Sign Up for New Coug Orientation
This is a must! You can’t register for classes without it, so get your Orientation spot locked in now.
Step 2: Send Your Final Transcripts
Graduated? Great! Now send us your final high school transcripts.
Took Running Start, or community college classes? Be sure to send those official transcripts too. Same goes for any AP or IB scores.
Step 3: Math Placement
If you haven’t taken a college-level math course yet, you’ll need to take the ALEKS placement exam. Check your portal for the details.
Step 4: Know Your Tech
Check your department’s website for computer requirements — especially if you’re in engineering. Many programs don’t work well on Macs.
Final Step: Check Your WSU Email
Your WSU email is the key to staying in the loop. Check it regularly for updates, tips, deadlines, and exciting news all summer long.
Ice Cream Socials
Are you and your family arriving in Pullman the night before an Experience WSU event (March 27 and April 10)?
If so, drop by the CUE atrium (convenient parking in the CUE garage) from 6-7:30 pm to enjoy a Ferdinand’s ice cream bar and meet faculty, staff, and current students from your major.
We will also raffle off a $500 and a $1,000 award to Voiland College students that will be applied to your Fall 2026 tuition for those who attend the ice cream social!
Academic Presentations
We’d love to invite you to a Voiland College Virtual Session, where you’ll meet faculty from your major and get an inside look at your program.
These sessions are major-specific and faculty-led, so you’ll hear directly from professors who teach your classes, along with academic advisors and a Voiland College student ambassador. You’ll learn what it’s really like to be a student in your program and get your questions answered live.
Scholarships
In addition to two full-tuition scholarships for new first-year students, the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture now offers a full-tuition scholarship for transfer students! Just fill out the WSU general scholarship application for eligibility.
Voiland College also offers Dean’s Scholarships to both new and transfer students as well as an additional $2,000 scholarship for recipients of the Distinguished Coug Award (making out-of-state tuition equivalent to in-state). For details or questions, please email kasey@wsu.edu.
Have Transfer Credit?
Schedule a meeting with Alena Hume to see how your credits will transfer into Voiland College requirements. More information about transferring credits here.
