2022 – Fundraising and Programming Begins
On April 18, 2022, Washington State University announced a landmark $20 million gift from Edmund and Beatriz Schweitzer and Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL). The Schweitzers and SEL are each contributing $10 million toward the construction of the Voiland College’s new student success building on WSU’s Pullman campus.
In October, The Boeing Company donated $5 million to establish a new student success center within Schweitzer Engineering Hall.
Throughout the fall, Voiland College engaged with students, employees, alumni, industry leaders, and the community to solicit input to help WSU shape how the new Schweitzer Engineering Hall will support generations of future problem solvers through its programming.
Through a series of focus groups, committees, open houses, and surveys, Voiland College received feedback from more than 700 people on how they thought Washington State University could reimagine Pullman’s engineering and design precinct to better serve the needs of our students and employees.
