Building Connections: Simpson Strong-Tie Student Symposium

2025 Symposium Cancelled

The 2025 symposium has been cancelled. Please check back in Fall 2026 for next year’s symposium.

Meet the Experts

Join Simpson Strong-Tie engineers and field specialists for a day of Building Connections where you will learn how structural connectors and pre-engineered building components help structures perform safely to resist natural hazards such as high winds and earthquakes. You will also acquire useful tips and insightful perspectives that will help you build your career path. Hear stories from building industry professionals about their career journeys in structural engineering, architecture and construction management.

There will also be lots of hands-on activities and opportunities to interact with the experts from Simpson Strong-Tie. Grab hold of an auto-feed screw gun and sink screws into steel and wood structural panels. Learn about how a new generation of structural fasteners are upending the old methods of making connections. Experience what it is like to impact-drive mechanical anchors into concrete and see how much load a fully cured adhesive anchor achieves when subjected to a pull test. You will get the opportunity to install a Simpson Strong-Tie wood connector and test it to failure and learn more about why installation requirements are important. In addition, we will share details with you about how to apply for Simpson Strong-Tie’s undergraduate Student Scholarship program.

The Bookie Student Book Corporation Gift Card.
