Supported by donations as well as in-kind contributions, the new lab will provide teaching and learning of emergent digital tools; distance collaboration through high-quality video conferencing; and presentation of large-format digital media in a multi-disciplinary, interactive setting.

Students will also gain a dedicated space with which to engage in cutting-edge technologies and connect with external partners—enhancing their academic experience and advancing the school’s commitment to excellence in outreach and education. “We expect this to be a first-class space that will enhance our professional outreach as well as improve recruitment and retention for all of our programs,” said Phil Gruen, School of Design and Construction director.

The new lab will include a donor wall to acknowledge the considerable support from SDC Advisory Board members and industry partners who have made the project possible.
