Thank you, Simpson Strong-Tie!

Simpson Strong-Tie team
More than 50 students participated in the first annual Simpson Strong-Tie Symposium, “Building Connections.” The students learned about career options and participated in hands-on installation demonstrations and structural components testing. The company is providing an annual $100,000 donation for the next eight years in support of WSU construction and engineering research in the new PACCAR Environmental Technology Building at WSU Pullman. The donation established the Simpson Strong-Tie Research and Testing Laboratory and an excellence fund to support research in areas such as concrete durability, repair, and retrofit; tall timber buildings; deck safety; post-frame buildings; and seismic retrofit. The funds also support fellowships for professors and graduate students and equipment purchases.

Thank you, Kiewit!
