Mahmood Ghassemi is the CEO of Sequoyah Electric, where he has led the company’s evolution into a regional leader in electrical design-build. With a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University, he began his career in engineering and transitioned into construction, specializing in preconstruction and complex design-build projects across commercial, healthcare, biotech, and education sectors.

Mahmood regards Washington State University as a foundational influence in his professional journey. He believes that alumni, himself included, have a responsibility to give back and support the university, empowering future generations to reach even greater heights.

A passionate advocate for community and education, he supports organizations such as Seattle Children’s hospital and cancer research institutions amongst many. He actively contributes to Washington State University through advisory roles and endowments supporting engineering, construction management, athletics, college of education and medical school. Mahmood is a proud member of the Executive Leadership Board for WSU’s Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture.
