In response to the growing disturbance of unwanted participants joining zoom meetings, also referred to as ZoomBobmbing, the WSU IT team has implemented the following security measures:

· Removed all user access through web browsers. Users are now required to access zoom via desktop or mobile applications.

· Zoom users will require an authentication to access WSU Zoom resources

· Embedded password protection has been enabled by default:

o Zoom-generated URLs include an embedded password. No extra steps are required for meeting attendees to join a meeting; simply click the link as usual, and the password is included.

o Meeting hosts can opt out of this default setting, however, this action will reduce security protections of the scheduled Zoom meeting.

As a result of these changes, the following actions will be taken by meeting hosts:

· For courses originally scheduled as a video conference course (AMS), AOI will update those meetings on behalf of the hosts. No action is required by the host.

· For meetings and courses not scheduled via video conference, the host will need to edit the existing links in the Blackboard course spaces, or shared via Outlook, to add the newly implemented password protection.
