ProPEL Internships & Career Services Events

EECS Lunch and Learn with Industry Series: Life and Times (and Careers) at A National Research Laboratory by David Manz and Jessica Smith, PNNL: Working at a National Lab is unlike working anywhere else; we are a fusion of academia, industry, and government that takes us down unique research and development paths. Join us to learn about the exciting computational, engineering, analytical, and cyber security research and development underway at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Come with questions for Jess Smith (WSU alum) and David Manz, PhD (adjunct professor, WSU). We will describe a day in the life of a researcher and provide a few examples of the exciting projects in critical infrastructure, control systems, data science, software engineering, and more. Friday, November 20, 12:10-1:00 PM

Boeing-WSU Speaker Series: Developing Your Leadership Style: Thursday, December 3, 4:00-5:00 PM

EECS Lunch and Learn with Industry Series: How to get your foot in the door, keep learning and contribute to your company’s success by Troy Coleman, Puget Sound Energy: As a newly degreed engineer, Troy got his foot in the door at PSE by applying for a senior-level position and convincing the selection team he was the right applicant to fill the role. Troy will provide guidance on getting recognized for your capabilities and keeping yourself in learning mode for continued success in projects of increasing complexity. In addition to his technical engineering work, Troy has been active in multiple committees and leadership roles at PSE and will share examples of the benefits of networking in your new job. Friday, December 4, 12:10-1:00 PM
