1. You win by not having to commute in or walk to class, so use that as your excuse to be gentle to your body and give yourself time to make a healthy breakfast as a great start to your day.
  2. Take a shower, get dressed as normal, eat breakfast and try not to drink too much coffee. Day 32 of WFH  – do you find yourself missing the commute? Use that time to call family or friends and say hi, listen to a good podcast or two, or an Audible book. You might try walking around the neighborhood this evening on a “pretend” commute.
  3. Your posture will start to kill you. No matter how good you are at rolling your shoulders back and sitting up, if your screen is below you…when you’re in deep concentration or flow, your head/neck will melt down. If you don’t have space for a whole office set up and large monitor, portability is key. Check out the Roost lap top stand. It weighs just over 5 lbs. and fits on pretty much any table!
  4. It’s helpful to take breaks and move your body throughout the day! It can be so easy to just park in your workspace and not move, especially if you live in a smaller space. Set reminders on your phone for every 30-minutes to get up, stretch, and get some water.
  5. Science shows us that loss of sleep or poor sleep could adversely affect your immune system, leaving you susceptible to colds and other illnesses. Quality sleep is a natural immune booster, helping our focus, mood and ability to manage stress. Try to get at least 7 hours, or more, of sleep each night.
