Program Status
The Computer Science, BA program is no longer accepting new students. Washington State University will continue to support currently enrolled students through degree completion. The program remains accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET during this teach-out period.
Program Educational Objectives
Objective 1: Graduates are engaged in engineering or computer science careers in industry, government or academia, or pursuing advanced studies.
Objective 2: Graduates demonstrate competence and ongoing development of their professional skills to adapt to changes in technology and the needs of a globalized society.
Objective 3: Graduates are successful team members or team leaders who conduct themselves with integrity and high standards of ethics.
Student Outcomes
- Analyze a complex computing problem and apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
- Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline.
- Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
- Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles.
- Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program’s discipline.
- Apply computer science theory and software development fundamentals to produce computing-based solutions.
