The Spirit Award recognizes one Civil Service or Administrative Professional (AP) staff whose exceptional service reflects VCEA’s main themes and dedication to the WSU community.
VCEA Main Themes:
- Student Success and Belonging: Providing our undergraduate and graduate students with a transformative experience that enables their pathway to success
- Research, Creativity, and Engagement: Further advancing Voiland College’s innovative solutions and impactful research by engaging in strategic collaborative efforts.
- Employee Development, Wellness, and Culture: Successfully recruiting and retaining a talented, diverse workforce that advances our land-grant mission of serving the public good.
- Infrastructure: Supporting the Voiland College’s employees, students, and partners with modern, state-of-the-art facilities.
Award/Honor
One VCEA staff will receive a certificate and honorarium.
Nomination Guidelines
- The objective of this award is to honor a VCEA staff member who embodies the values and themes of the college and university as a whole, demonstrating enthusiasm, positive attitude, and commitment to providing excellent service.
- This award is open to all VCEA Civil Service and/or AP staff, irrespective of campus.
- Previous winners of this award may not be nominated during the three years following their last receipt of the award.
- Requirements for the nomination package are:
- One nomination letter (no more than one page in length).
- Up to three letters of recommendation are welcome, but not mandatory.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrates exceptional service that emulates the College’s values and main themes – Student Success and Belonging; Research, Creativity, and Engagement; Employee Development, Wellness, and Culture; and Infrastructure.
- Positively contributes to the image and goals of the college and university as a whole, demonstrates enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and commitment to providing excellent service.
Deadline
All nominations should be submitted in Qualtrics on or before Friday, March 13, 2026, by 5:00 pm (PST).
