Dear Colleagues,
In an effort to address the evolving landscape of information technology at Washington State University, we are realigning Voiland College’s Information Technology (IT) department to address various needs and aim to provide better service to all our stakeholders.
Moving forward, Kate Konen will lead the VCEA Systems Team of IT, including HPC, networking, and server administration. John Kirkland will lead the VCEA Help Desk Operations Team to address the day-to-day needs of our end users. Tony Burt will continue as VCEA Area Technology Officer (ATO) and represent Voiland College at the university and college leadership level and focus on strategic operations like security compliance, A/V, IT governance, special projects, and interfacing with WSU Central ITS.
Kate, John, and Tony will report directly to the VCEA dean. Moreover, Kate and John will have a dotted line of reporting to Tony as necessary for the strategic operations listed above.
