Congratulations on a successful first week in this bold new Zoom world!
In the space of a little over 10 days, we transitioned 453 sections of teaching courses to an online format. More than 300 staff, faculty, and teaching assistants took part in our Zoom training program over Spring Break to prepare, all the while moving themselves from their offices and classrooms to remote teaching locations.
As we start our first week of distance learning, I want to start by saying THANK YOU for everything that you’ve done this week to prepare WSU and our local communities to respond to the growing impact of COVID-19.
As we continue our preparations for online delivery, I want to encourage you to communicate with your students about what changes, if any, they may experience when they return to classes on Monday, as well as what they can expect from you and what expectations you have of them.
In accordance with WSU and Voiland College’s directive for employees to immediately transition to telework, I request that all Voiland College faculty, staff, and graduate students complete a telework agreement as soon as possible. If you have already submitted a memo that was approved by your supervisor, completion of this form is not needed.
In accordance with the CDC and Governor Inslee’s guidance, to protect the health of our students, staff, faculty and community, I am directing all unit directors within our college to implement these policies, effective immediately.
With one week to go until we begin distance learning at Washington State University, I wanted to provide you an update on where we at with our preparation efforts.
