We have hired several new faculty in our signature research areas, including in environmental research (air and water), smart environments, catalysis, and advanced materials, and we have some new leadership in the college:
We have successfully recruited Norbert Kruse as the second Voiland Distinguished Professor. He’s an international leader in catalysis and will help us grow our reputation in this important field. He comes to WSU from the Free University of Brussels.
Max Kirk is serving as interim director of the School of Design and Construction. He has served as assistant director for the school for several years, and will help ensure a smooth transition for a new director.
We welcome Dave Field as Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies. He has most recently served as interim director of WSU’s School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering.
We are also pleased to welcome Michael Kessler as the Berry Family Director and Professor in the School of MME. Dr. Kessler comes to us from Iowa State University.
