Safety Tip of the Week

Fix a Leak

Water leaks account for 1 trillion gallons of water wasted every year in the USA—enough to provide water for 11 million homes annually. Water leaks can also be hazardous, leading to flooding, slips, falls- and injuries.

  • Never leave faucets running unattended in labs, bathrooms, gardens, or hallways.
  • Report leaks on campus immediately to Facilities Services.
  • Avoid or use extreme caution in areas of wet or standing water.
  • Use these tips to detect and fix leaks at home.
