Safety Tip of the Week
Slow Down, Look Out
In 2011, 4,432 pedestrians were killed and an estimated 69,000 were injured in traffic crashes in the United States.
As a driver, make sure to always watch for pedestrians at all times. Always stop for pedestrians at crosswalks and never pass vehicles that are stopped at a crosswalk, as they are stopped to allow a pedestrian to cross.
Also to note:
- The speed limit around most areas of the WSU Pullman campus is 20 miles per hour.
- The fine for violating the state of Washington’s distracted driving law is $136.
