Alice Squires has been named the Wendell J. Satre Distinguished Professor in WSU’s Engineering Technology Management program.

Tutoring is Available

VCEA Tutoring Services offers students free access to tutors via Zoom rooms for real-time academic support. Questions? Concerns? Contact the director, Becky Dueben at rdueben@wsu.edu or call 509 336- 9417.

Academic Success and Career Center tutoring services are a free peer facilitated drop-in resource that will guide learning and promote success. Drop-in tutoring means no appointment necessary – you show up to the tutors zoom room and the tutor will be available.

eTutoring:
Free online help available for all WSU undergraduates.

LSAMP Tutoring (Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation):
Free peer-to-peer tutoring for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) majors.

Math Learning Center:
Free tutor-assisted study halls offered by the Department of Mathematics.

Multicultural Student Services Tutoring:
The Academic Enrichment Center helps students improve academic performance by providing free tutoring.

Research-Related Peer Mentoring:
Learn about undergraduate research from your peers.

Writing Center:
Free peer tutoring to assist with university writing assignments.

WSU Launches New Academic Questions Hotline

Washington State University has a new hotline for academic questions. The number to call is 509-335-6000. The hotline will be staffed by the Academic Success and Career Center weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Library Locker Pickup Available

WSU Libraries are now offering a 24/7 contactless locker pickup adjacent to Terrell Library as a safe way of providing library materials to patrons.

Campus Connect

Campus Connect is an evidence-based 2-hour suicide prevention training program, offered free of charge for all WSU staff and students, on any campus or location.

Participants learn:
Statistics and facts about college student suicide / How to ask if someone is feeling suicidal / Appropriate referrals / Active listening, communication, and relationship-building skills

Pre-registration is required and course seating is limited.

Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour training that teaches skills to help someone who is experiencing a mental health crisis. WSU Pullman students can participate for free with support from student activity fees. See more about cost below.

Participants learn about symptoms, crisis response, and active listening skills to support many disorders: Depression and anxiety / Trauma / Psychosis / Eating disorders / Substance abuse.

Pre-registration is required and course seating is limited.

Feeling stressed, need help coping, or just want tips for managing your stress? We can help! To sign up, text “@STRESS” to 73940. You can join at any time and this program is available for all WSU locations.

Join our text messaging program and we will:

  • Check in with you every week to see how you’re doing.
  • Send you weekly tips for lowering stress.
  • Share information about health-related events and resources around campus.

On average, you would receive no more than 2 or 3 text messages per week.
