What is UDL? Experts describe that the principles of UDL form a “framework to improve and optimize teaching and learning for all people based on scientific insights into how people learn” (CAST). UDL guidelines provide both theoretical and practical foundations of research across education, including the exploration of diverse populations. They also offer suggestions that can be applied to any discipline or domain to ensure that all learners can access and participate in meaningful learning opportunities.

Monkeypox Vaccines Available for Pullman Students

The monkeypox vaccine is available at Cougar Health Services (CHS), and students in impacted populations are encouraged to get the vaccine. CHS also has testing for monkeypox and can help identify the proper course of treatment for those who contract it.

Faculty and staff are asked to share this information with students, especially those in populations currently eligible to receive a vaccine, and encourage them to get vaccinated and seek testing and treatment if they have symptoms.

More information about the vaccine, testing, and treatment is available on the CHS website. Students can schedule vaccines through their patient portal or by calling CHS at 509‑335‑3575.

Faculty and staff seeking monkeypox vaccination and/or treatment for themselves can find more information on the Washington State Department of Health website.

Helping a Student in Crisis

Faculty and staff are often able to recognize when a student is struggling, but it can be hard to know what to say or do. Reference your campus guide for specific WSU and community resources to aid a student in distress.

Early intervention is the key to student success. The Student Care Network allows you to share concerns about a student’s emotional or psychological well-being, physical health, or academic performance with colleagues on your campus who can help. When you submit your referral through our online form, an email will be generated, contacting the relevant offices on your campus.
