Go Cougs!

WSU Bremerton student Quinn Morley’s plan to send a flying boat to study the smoggy atmosphere and hydrocarbon-rich lakes of the Saturn moon of Titan has been awarded a grant from NASA’s Innovative Advanced Concepts program.

Students guided by Roland Chen, built a large-scale, “Operation-style game” for Pullman Regional Hospital’s Center for Learning and Innovation and the Palouse Discovery Science Center.

A study published in ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces that was co-led by Jong-Hoon Kim demonstrates that electrodes can be made using just screen printing, creating a stretchable, durable circuit pattern that can be transferred to fabric and worn directly on human skin.

In a study published in the Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy, researchers led by Peter Pfromm found that the cost of ammonia sustainably produced using steam or water electrolysis was comparable to the currently used method of producing ammonia that uses either natural gas or coal. The study shows that sustainable fertilizer production might be economically attractive, particularly for small-scale operations.
