AP Contribution Awards – Nominations Due March 28

The Administrative Professional (AP) Contribution Awards recognize APs who have made exceptional contributions to Washington State University and their respective areas or units.

A total of six awards will be selected based on representation / work location and award recipients will receive $1000. The nomination form will close on March 28 at 5 p.m. Read more about eligibility guidelines.

Online SKY Wellness Retreat

Online SKY Wellness Retreat at University of California, San Francisco from March 24th – March 26th, or April 14th to April 16th is a comprehensive well-being and resilience program designed to help faculty, staff and students achieve their fullest potential. This program is being offered at 90% scholarship only for college or university staff, faculty ($245 reduced to $25). Space is limited and on a first come, first served basis.

Top Ten Senior Awards – Nominations Due March 24

The Top Ten Senior Awards provide an opportunity for faculty, staff, community members, and other students to nominate a deserving senior for their contributions to Washington State University. Nominations must be received by March 24.

Oaks Academic Technology Award – Nominations Due March 28

Nominations are now being accepted for the Oaks Academic Technology Award. The self-nominated award recognizes instructors for their innovative application of technology to transform teaching and learning in their classroom (face-to-face, asynchronous online, or videoconferencing).

The winner will receive $3,000 in faculty development funds, distributed to the award winner’s academic department. To apply or learn more about the award, including the evaluation rubric, visit the Oaks award application webpage.

WSU Alumni Association Award – Nominations Due April 7

Deadline extended! The WSUAA is now accepting award nominations to recognize WSU alumni, faculty/staff, students, volunteers, and friends whose hard work and dedication make Washington State University and our Alumni Association the best organizations in the world!

WESKA Entrepreneurship – Register by April 30

WESKA is an immersive, weeklong accelerator boot camp June 12 – 16 that is open to WSU postdoctoral, doctoral and master’s students from any discipline or WSU location who want to learn more about entrepreneurship.

GPSA Dissertation Grant – Apply Today

The Awards and Scholarships Committee offers dissertation grants to support the research needs of WSU Ph.D. students. These grants will be awarded on a rolling basis to help cover expenses generated as students work to complete their dissertation projects.

Facilities Update – March

Three firms have been selected to participate in the Request for Proposals (RFP) process to select a company to design and build Schweitzer Engineering Hall. The selection process will be finalized later this spring.

WSU is requesting $40 million in state funding to build the new facility, with a further $40 million of philanthropic funds being contributed to the project. The state of Washington budget will be finalized by this summer. Look here for future updates as we continue to break ground on Schweitzer Engineering Hall in early 2024.

Please familiarize yourself with the Schweitzer Engineering Hall Program (PDF), as it will serve as a guide for providing input on the design later this spring.

The WSU Police Cadet Corp offers a free foot escort service to and from campus most evenings. Call 509-432-2328 for details.

If you are on campus and need immediate help, look for one of the many emergency blue light telephones located around the area. Push the button and you are directly connected to the Whitcom 911 Communications Center.
