Washington State University announced a gift of $1.5 million from the Dimond Family Foundation to support the construction of Schweitzer Engineering Hall.
Jillian Cadwell was part of a WSU Tri-Cities team that was named a grand-prize winner in the Department of Energy’s Inclusive Energy Innovation Prize. WSU Tri‑Cities was awarded $250,000 to continue its Empowering the Future Energy Workforce plan, which includes developing an energy and environment certificate that will prepare students to join the next generation of clean energy leaders and thinkers.
Led by Scott Beckman, researchers will partner with the Department of Defense Army Research Laboratory on a cooperative agreement for research focused on materials used in extreme environments.
Recent landscape grad Mallak Al-Salmi received a micro grant from The National Association of Minority Landscape Architects.

Requests Open for Fall 2023 Cougar Cage
This fall, students, faculty, and staff will have an opportunity to pitch their game-changing projects in need of funding as part of an upcoming Cougar Cage event hosted by the Palouse Club.
Projects will be selected for funding by the Palouse Club, a group of WSU alumni from the Puget Sound region dedicated to supporting the university’s success. The group has committed to funding three projects within the range of $5,000 to $50,000 in a “Shark Tank” type competition, where presenters have 10 minutes to pitch their project and answer questions.
The deadline for submission is Aug. 16.
