Jason Peschel appointed VCEA Associate Dean for Facilities Modernization

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that Jason Peschel has been appointed VCEA Associate Dean for Facilities Modernization.

In this role, Jason will lead and oversee efforts to continue to upgrade all VCEA Pullman facilities. This will include serving as the Voiland College lead on questions relating to the design and construction of Schweitzer Engineering Hall and leading efforts to design and fundraise for the next step in the precinct plan.

Jason will serve in this role through 2026 or until the performance period is modified by the Voiland College dean.

Over the last two years, Jason has served as a member of the Schweitzer Engineering Hall Executive Committee. In addition to Jason, this team includes Shelley Pressley, Associate Dean for Student Success, Steve Saunders, Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering, and me. The executive committee is supported by partners from WSU Facilities and members of the VCEA Executive Leadership Board.

Jason brings a wealth of experience to this new Associate Dean’s position having worked in the construction industry for over a decade prior to his appointments as a faculty member. He has been teaching construction management topics at Wayne State College and Washington State University for the past two decades.

He has been recognized for teaching excellence through the President’s Distinguished Teaching Award, the Reid Miller Excellence in Teaching Award, and several School of Design and Construction and construction management outstanding teaching awards.

Jason will continue to serve as the director of the School of Design and Construction, a position that he has held since June 2022.

Please join me in thanking Jason for accepting this important responsibility!
