Research Mentors Needed

STEM Student Support Services is currently seeking Research Mentors for the 2024-25 academic year. Research Mentors are faculty and graduate students who provide undergraduate research mentorship for students from diverse backgrounds pursuing degrees in STEM and health sciences. Mentors engage in faculty-developed training to provide inclusive and culturally responsive mentorship.

CougStarter Student Club Crowdfunding Campaign Ends March 20

CougStarter is Washington State University’s crowdfunding program, empowering registered student organizations from any campus to share their visions, ideas, and plans. Several Voiland College clubs are participating.

Oaks Academic Technology Award – Nominations Due March 20

Nominations are now being accepted for the eighth annual Oaks Academic Technology Award, which recognizes an instructor’s innovative application of technology to transform teaching and learning in their classroom.

McNair Scholars Program – Apply by March 22

The McNair Scholars Program is pleased to announce the recruitment of 2024–25 cohort. The program prepares first-generation/low-income undergraduate students and students from under-represented background for graduate school. The program will provide participants with graduate education preparation activities to include faculty-mentored research experiences and course work craft of research and culture of graduate education.

Teaching Academy Awards – Apply by March 22

The WSU Teaching Academy has opened online applications for three annual awards in support of great teaching and learning system-wide.

Outstanding Publication in the Scholarship of Teaching in Higher Education: It is presented to a WSU faculty member or members to recognize an outstanding publication in the scholarship of teaching in higher education.

Teaching Conference Registration Award: It covers the cost of registration fees to attend a conference, meeting, or workshop that will directly enhance the applicant’s classroom teaching and/or scholarship of teaching.

Award for Excellence in Teaching a Large Class: It recognizes achievement in teaching in one of the most difficult contexts—class sections of more than 50 students.

WSU Early-Career Faculty Grant – Apply by April 1

ADVANCE at WSU is pleased to announce a new grant opportunity for WSU faculty. The deadline for applications is April 1.The George and Joan Berry Faculty Success Grant is intended to support early-career women and under-represented faculty (pre-tenure) in any discipline at WSU.

PNNL-WSU Distinguished Graduate Research Program Applications Extended to May 10

The WSU Office of Research, the WSU Graduate School, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory recently announced the call for applications for the eighth cohort of the Distinguished Graduate Research Program. To apply, co-advisors from WSU and PNNL should submit a joint-DGRP application online.

INSPIRE! Community Engaged Research Seed Grant Program

INSPIRE! Community Engaged Research Seed Grants are offered as part of the INSPIRE! Community Engaged Research Program administered by the Office of Research with support from the WSU Pullman Chancellor’s Office.

The 12-month Community Engaged Research Tier Three Seed Grants of up to $20,000 are intended to support WSU Pullman faculty who are currently established in community engaged research and/or creative activity.
