Todd Vanek has been named president of the Council of Engineering Management Academic Leaders.

The Everett Herald highlighted Jacob Murray for his work in a new program between WSU Everett, Clemson University and Boeing that prepares college students for careers in aerospace.

WSU’s Chemical Engineering program was again named among the Top 20 Best Global Universities for Chemical Engineering in the United States by US News & World Report.

American Veteran Sneak Preview Nov. 9

Carson College veterans would like to invite you to honor our veterans and learn about their experiences by joining us on Tuesday, November 9 at 6 pm PST for a virtual sneak peak of the new PBS documentary, “AMERICAN VETERAN.” We’ll hear unique stories from our country’s veterans and explore the present-day divide between civilian and veteran communities. President’s Employee Excellence Awards – Nominations Due Nov. 30

The $2500 award is presented annually to recognize outstanding contributions by WSU administrative professional and classified employees.

Open Enrollment November 1 – 30

This year’s Open Enrollment period, which runs from Nov. 1 to Nov. 30, features a new process for WSU faculty and staff to make any needed changes to their healthcare and other benefits.

Nov. 19 – Parking FAQs

Washington State University is hosting a Friday night football game on November 19. Pullman campus parking lots will need to be cleared of employee and student vehicles by 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021 to accommodate the Coug fans and others arriving for the evening game. Environmental Fellow Program – Apply by Jan. 10

The Environmental Fellows Program is a nationally competitive summer fellowship program for masters and doctoral students that seeks to place students traditionally underrepresented in the environmental field and those committed to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in summer fellowships with environmental foundations and their grantees.

NASA Space Grant Graduate Fellowships – Apply by Nov. 12

The Washington NASA Space Grant Consortium offers up to $2500 fellowships for graduate students in science, engineering, or math at Washington State University. These competitive fellowships are based on academic achievement, a personal essay, a recommendation from a faculty mentor and future academic promise.

PNNL-WSU Distinguished Graduate Research Program – Apply by Nov. 29

The WSU Office of Research, the WSU Graduate School, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) are pleased to announce the call for applications for the sixth cohort of the Distinguished Graduate Research Program (DGRP). Incoming students are nominated jointly by a WSU faculty and a PNNL scientist.

Interested co-advisors from WSU and PNNL should submit a joint-DGRP application online by November 29, 2021 for priority consideration. Advisor applications have a hard deadline of February 14, 2022.

The DGRP is intended to increase the quality and quantity of STEM doctoral students across the WSU system, while providing an enhanced research experience by aligning WSU faculty, students, and PNNL scientists with the unique capabilities and research programs at PNNL. Students in the DGRP are funded by their WSU and PNNL advisors, not by the DGRP. For more information, please visit DGRP, or email DGRP@wsu.edu.

ASEE Conference for Industry and Education Collaboration Feb 9-11

The ASEE Conference for Industry and Education Collaboration is organized by College-Industry Partnership Division, Continuing Professional Development Division, Cooperative and Experiential Education Division (CEED), and Engineering Technology Division. This annual conference includes workshops, technical sessions, training, and a plenary emphasizing the long and mutually beneficial partnerships between education, industry, and government.
