Yong Wang is the recipient of the 2021 American Chemical Society’s E.V. Murphree Award in Industrial and Engineering Chemistry.

The Nuclear Science Center, in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry and the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, will acquire a new high-resolution X-ray spectrometer to perform both X-ray absorption and emission spectroscopy.

Principle investigators from WSU colleges of nursing, medicine and engineering are launching an asthma study using a phone app to help people recognize how wildfire smoke impacts their lungs and makes them feel, and prevent breathing wildfire smoke.

The Department of Energy’s Office of Science featured a story on doctoral student Sarah Murphy, a SCGSR Fellow who will be conducting atmospheric research at PNNL this fall.

WSU Tri-Cities conducted its Order of the Engineering Ceremony last week.

Inclusive Education Ideas

Chromebook and WiFi HotSpot Device Borrowing Program

Students who are interested in borrowing a WiFi device and or a Chromebook free of charge can submit a request via the WiFi HotSpot Program and Computer Loan Program websites. Both pieces of equipment are available to WSU students across the university system.

Tutoring Begins Tuesday, August 25!

VCEA Tutoring Services will begin drop-in tutoring on Tuesday, August 25. Students will be able to access tutors via Zoom rooms for real-time academic support. WSU Launches New Academic Questions Hotline

Washington State University has a new hotline for academic questions. The number to call is 509-335-6000. The hotline will be staffed by the Academic Success and Career Center weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Library Locker Pickup Available

WSU Libraries are now offering a 24/7 contactless locker pickup adjacent to Terrell Library as a safe way of providing library materials to patrons.

Oregon State University is providing an incredible fellowship program called Oregon NASA Space Grant Consortium Graduate Scholarship for STEM graduate students attending any of member four-year universities in the fields of space science or aerospace.
