Strategic 5% Reallocation for Grand Challenges and Student Success RFP Has Now Been Released

Welcome back! I hope your break was restful and your semester is off to a great start.

Last month, you were alerted on the anticipated call for proposals for reinvestment in support of the WSU Strategic Plan, themes one and two. That RFP has now been officially released – you should have received the announcement at close of business, yesterday, from the Provost’s Office.

Grand Challenges, Student Success, and an RFP

I hope you had a restful Thanksgiving break, and I’m sure everyone is looking forward to the end of the semester and the holidays.

Earlier this semester, I told you about the 5% budget reallocation process initiated by the Provost’s and President’s offices. The 5% cut is intended for reallocation to strategic priorities as well as to fund salary increases that were implemented last January but not funded by the state until July 1, 2015.

Budget Updates, Grand Challenges, and Student Success

It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is nearly upon us. The semester is flying by and will be over before we know it!

In October, I told you about the 5% budget reallocation process initiated by the Provost’s and President’s offices. The 5% cut is intended for reallocation to strategic priorities as well as to fund salary increases that were implemented last January but not funded by the state until July 1, 2015.

Welcome, Presidential Search, and 5% Budget Reallocation

I hope you are having a productive fall semester and enjoying the beautiful October weather! In the past few weeks, we broke ground on a new building at WSU North Puget Sound at Everett, which will house our existing mechanical and electrical engineering programs as well as our new software engineering program. On the Pullman campus, we’re excited for the upcoming move into the new PACCAR Environmental Technology Building next month and a grand opening celebration in the spring.

Welcome Back – Fall 2015

Welcome back! I always love this time of year when the students and faculty return from their summer adventures, and hallways start buzzing with activity. As we see those fresh, eager, and new faces on campus, it’s a great reminder of just how lucky we are. We get to help guide these young people for a few years and hopefully make such a difference in their lives as we prepare them for their futures. The work we do is really important – to them, and to the state and country as well.

Message Regarding President Floyd

By now you have likely heard that we have lost our beloved president and leader, but in case you have not heard, I am forwarding this message from the WSU Board of Regents.

Follow-up to Friday’s News Regarding Elson Floyd

I am sure that, by now, you are aware that Dr. Floyd has requested, and been granted, a medical leave of absence to combat cancer. This is a difficult time for all of us at WSU as we recognize the seriousness of his illness. Please keep Dr. Floyd in your thoughts and prayers as he battles his cancer.
