June 21, 2022 Voiland College This Week

WSU will begin offering a new undergraduate cybersecurity degree starting in 2023.

Led by Omar Al-Hassawi, WSU faculty members are developing a curriculum for building science certificates and a degree focused on carbon-conscious construction. The program aims to close a gap in comprehensive energy efficiency training for students as well as for professionals who are already in the workforce.

VCEA Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies Position Opening

Following nine years of outstanding leadership as Voiland College’s Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies, Dave Field has accepted a new role within our college as the Director of the Institute of Materials Research. In his new role, Dave will coordinate research efforts for Washington State University with the goal of leveraging our strengths in this emerging and vitally important field.

June 14, 2022 Voiland College This Week

Rabayet Sadnan, Shirin Shahsavand, Marwa Alymi, Ayumi Manawadu, Carla De Lira, and the Graduate Society of Women Engineers received GPSA Excellence Awards.

Ayumi Manawadu, received the Women Transportation Society’s Leadership Legacy Scholarship, awarded to an outstanding young woman pursuing graduate studies working toward a career in transportation or a related field.

June 7, 2022 Voiland College This Week

Ganapati Bhat recently won the 2022 Outstanding Dissertation Award from the Association of Computing Machinery Special Interest Group on Design Automation (SIGDA) for his work to improve the devices.

Working with researchers from PNNL, WSU researchers have helped develop an artificial enzyme that succeeded in digesting lignin, which has stubbornly resisted previous attempts to develop it into an economically useful energy source.

Public Employment Relations Commissions (PERC) has notified Washington State University that a petition has been received from WSU_CASE/UAW to represent Academic Student Employees.
