Director (retired), Powertrain Technology
Received a BSME degree from Brooklyn Polytechnic and MSME and Ph.D. from Rutgers University. After graduate school worked for:
- Lawrence Livermore Laboratory as a research scientist
- Flow Industries as Vice President Advanced Technology
- PACCAR Inc. as Director of Advanced Technology, followed by Director of Powertrain Technology
- Retired since 2009
At Flow, responsibilities included the development of commercial applications for “waterjet” technology in mining, construction and oil and gas. At PACCAR, responsibilities included the implementation of electronics, advanced composites and virtual reality within the corporation. In addition, was responsible for the implementation of global powertrain development.
Married with two children and one grandson. Interests include studying history, fitness, yoga, walking and travel. In addition to serving on the Leadership Board at WSU, I serve on the Visiting Committee of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the UW. Additionally I volunteer my services 2 – 3 days a week at Group Health Cooperative.
